Arkansas Creeks is a non-commercial, volunteer-run resource that provides river and creek conditions for the paddling community. This policy explains what limited information the site handles and how it is used. It is written to be read in full.

The short version

You can browse Arkansas Creeks without creating an account or giving us any personal information. We do not run advertising, we do not use tracking or analytics products of our own, and we never sell or rent anyone's data. The only times any personal information is involved are when you visit the site (your connection is handled by our infrastructure provider), submit a request through the request page, or make a voluntary support payment.

Information handled when you visit

Our site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which acts as our content delivery and security provider. As part of serving and securing the site for every visitor, Cloudflare processes your IP address and standard technical details about your request, such as your browser type and the pages you access. This is the same baseline handling Cloudflare performs for the sites it fronts; we do not add any analytics, advertising, or visitor-tracking layer on top of it. Cloudflare's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Information you choose to submit

If you use the request page to suggest a new feature or ask for a new creek or gauge to be added, we receive the information you enter in that form, including your request details and any contact information you choose to include. We use it only to review the request and, where appropriate, follow up with you. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Support payments

Arkansas Creeks is offered free of charge. If you choose to make a voluntary support payment, the payment is processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card or bank details. PayPal may share limited transaction information with us, such as your name, email address, and the amount, so we can recognize and acknowledge the contribution. PayPal's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy policy at paypal.com.

Our Facebook page

Arkansas Creeks publishes automated conditions updates to a Facebook Page. That posting is one-directional: the system publishes updates and does not collect information about people who view or interact with the page. Anything you do on Facebook itself, including reading or commenting on those posts, is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, not this one.

Cookies

Essential cookies may be set by Cloudflare for security and performance purposes. We do not set advertising or analytics tracking cookies of our own.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. The only parties that process any of it are the service providers described above — Cloudflare for site delivery and PayPal for payments — and only to the extent needed to provide those services. We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so.

How long information is kept

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Requests and records of support payments are retained as long as they are useful for operating the site and keeping basic records. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time.

Children
